I spent much of the day yesterday at Te Puia walking around looking at the geysers, hot springs, mudpools, etc. I went for the steambox lunch tour. You pick out your food items at the start of the tour and they are then cooked by steam over one of the geothermal vents while you take your 2 hour tour.
This the Pohutu geyser which we sat above and got to watch go off as we ate our lunch.
The chef removes the damp cloths to retrieve the food we selected 2 hours earlier.
I enjoyed the tour with a group of 4 from Korea. That is our tour guide in the back - a native Maori.
